Overview

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The CEC is a permanent residence category for people with skilled work experience in Canada. It was developed for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with qualifying Canadian work experience.  This is one of the three federal programs managed through Express Entry under the skilled worker.

The candidate can remain in Canada throughout the application process. The applicant can apply under the CEC category while staying inside Canada or outside of Canada.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Under this program the applicant must meet the minimum eligibility requirement before applying for the Canadian Permanent Residency. The requirements are as follows;

  1. Language Ability – The applicant must meet the required language levels needed for the job. The scores are considered the same way they are required for the express entry. The higher the score the more points the applicant scores in the Express Entry. Canadian Language benchmark (CLB) 7 e. IELTS 6 in all modules for NOC “O” or “A” category. The language result should be valid for 2 years and must be valid when the candidate applies under the Express Entry.
  2. Canadian Experience- The applicant must have a minimum of 1 year full time paid work experience in Canada in the last 3 years before applying. The experience must be full time or equivalent part time and paid. The experience should be gained legally. The applicant must fall under the NOC O, A or B category. The experience which the applicant has in Canada must fall under the category of O, A or B. The self employment in Canada or the experience which is gained as a full time student is not considered for the Canadian Experience class.
  3. Education- There is no education requirement for Canadian Experience Class. In case if the candidate wants to improve the score in the Pool, the Candidate has to get the Education Credential Assessment (ECA) done from the designated authorities. ECA is exempted for the candidates who have Canadian Education.
  4. Admissibility- The candidate should be admissible to Canada. There should be no permanent bans or restrictions on the candidate to apply or enter to Canada. There should be no Criminal records against the Candidate and there should be no medical reasons for restriction (communicable diseases).
  • There is no requirement for Proof of Funds under CEC Category.

There are high chances of selection if the Candidate has Job Offer or Provincial Nomination
