Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

Overview

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is a fast-track immigration program that allows employers in Canada’s four Atlantic provinces — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island — to hire foreign nationals for jobs they haven’t been able to fill locally.

The AIPP program requires the applicant to have certain process in place so that he/she can submit a AIP Endorsement Application. Should the application be approved, the applicant will receive an Endorsement Certificate that is valid for six months. Once the applicant receives the certificate, the applicant can submit the complete and correct Permanent Residence Application to the Federal Government of Canada as soon as the applicant has all of the required documents.

  1. Program eligibility

Each of the economic immigration programs have different eligibility requirements relating to age, language test scores, education levels, and professional experience.

  1. Identity documents

The applicant must gather all identity and civil status documents for self and all accompanying family members (and even some non-accompanying family members), and must have these documents translated and notarised if they are not already in English or French.

The applicant and all accompanying family members must have valid passports.

  1. Language tests

The applicant must provide a valid Language Test, in English or in French, that was administered by a designated IRCC testing agency and that is less than 18 months old at the time  application is submitted to the province of New Brunswick.

A minimum equivalent of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 in all language skills, in English or in French, is required. Note: Certain employers may require a higher score.

  1. Education credentials

All our immigration programs require a minimum education level that is equivalent to a Canadian High School diploma.

If the applicant does not have Canadian education credentials, he/she will need to provide an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) that confirms the Canadian equivalency of the education.

  1. Letters of employment

The applicant must provide letters of employment that confirm his/her professional experience.

Letters must be:

  • written on company letterhead;
  • signed by the responsible officer/supervisor;
  • show the company’s full address, telephone numbers, e- mail and website addresses; and
  • stamped with the company’s official seal (if applicable).

Letters must include all the following information:

  • the specific period of the employment with the company;
  • the positions the applicant have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position;
  • the main responsibilities and duties in each position;
  • the total annual salary plus benefits; and the number of hours worked per week.
  1. Police certificates

The applicant  must have police certificates arranged (knowing where and how to obtain the necessary documents) or recently completed for every country in which the Applicant has resided for six months or more since age 18 (this also applies for all accompanying family members who are 18 years of age or older). Police Certificates are valid for a period of six months
